Saison 8

17. The Future of Youth Protection

TV BROADCAST:
Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Ten thousand young Montrealers are in the care of the Youth Protection system every year. Some are there because of broken family situations, others are young offenders. Many are helped by their stay, but others don't fare so well. There have been accusations of racial bias, especially when it comes to dealing with aboriginal teens. We look at how the system is changing to better serve all, and if they're going far enough.

Guest(s) : Linda See, Director, Batshaw Youth and Family Centres Nakuset, Executive Director, Native Women's Shelter of Montreal Egbert Gaye, Editor, Community Contact Dr. Tina Montreuil, Assistant Professor, McGill Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology
