
Visual FX has become an integral part of the Hollywood film industry, and of Montréal as a crucial hub for the industry’s leading activities. In this third episode, we meet with senior texture artist, Irene Smirnova who works at Atomic Fiction and has collaborated on mainstream projects such as Game of Thrones, Xmen and The Revenant. The often-unknown world of visual FX is fascinating and Chad Nixon, executive producer at Cinesite, walks us through the different elements that are included in the process of creating them. Finally, we meet with Seth Cobb, the asset production director from Atomic Fiction who explains the type of organisations that exist and the importance of having a hub of talented and creative people to work with in cities such as Montreal.

Anne is an ardent Montrealer, lover of the arts and well-travelled curious individual. Growing up in a vibrant cultural environment, she practiced dancing, drawing, and piano. Studying business at HEC, graduating with a BBA and MSc, she did a significant project on cultural nonprofits. Anne volunteers in various arts organizations including the YPC of the MMFA. To engage her creative side, she established a brand/blog (Jano Lapin) where she reveals her enthusiasm for the art world she frequents.
